Call to Worship:
One: I saw something evil happen, and I felt paralyzed.
All: We were afraid, and paralysis set in.
One: I protested the wrong, and began to move again.
All: We sang in the face of fear, and learned once more
how to dance.
One: I prayed for strength, and found friends.
All: Together with God, as God’s family, we turn the world around. Let us worship God.

Prayer of Approach:
O God, we come here to feel your face shine on us, to recognize how you bless us, and to sing your praises. We come in gratitude, hope and joy; we come in fear and trembling, desperation and profound need. We come because in this company of faithful people, you meet us like a Mother, through Jesus, who teaches us to pray:
Prayer of Jesus: (sung to # 960)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
